Providing temperature-controlled environments for food and other
perishables are essential in today's global market. Through our Climate
Control Technologies sector and Thermo King and Hussmann brands, we
provide global solutions for the transportation and retail refrigeration
market.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer in our
Hastings Nebraska plant. We are supporting new Thermo King
products and our product lines are expanding.
In this position you will:
- Review and analyze manufacturing methods in sub-assembly and assembly
areas.
- Make recommendations and support implementation of projects for line
balance, workstation design, material flow, KANBAN design, and sequence.
- Make recommendations that will enhance the quality of the product by
reviewing existing and proposed product designs for ease of
manufacturing.
- Participate in project team activities involving value analysis,
design reviews, product development, product transfer and startup, and
new product introduction.
- Use value-engineering techniques to reduce cost and increase customer
value.
- Serve as a consultant to corporate design engineering, marketing and
quality, to include contact with customers.
- Participate in product improvements using Design for Manufacturing
(DFM) analysis and design for ergonomics.
- Analyze measurements systems using numerical tools, like isoplotting
and gage repeatability and reproducibility (R & R). Conduct
statistical tolerance stackup analysis using manufacturing capability
data.
- Monitor process capability using Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Coordinate programs based on long-range activity forecasts including
analysis, justification and recommendations for facilities, equipment
and/or manpower requirements.
- Conduct problem solving processes utilizing 'Is-Is Not', '5 Whys' and
other similar methodologies (fishbone, cause effect, etc.) for root
cause analysis
- Maintain a high level of technical knowledge in advanced manufacturing
technology in the areas of plant productivity and product to be
manufactured through training and participation in professional
societies and/or organizations, such as American Society for
Manufacturing Engineers (ASME).
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- Must have 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, 5+
years preferred
- Ability to travel up to 5%
- Superior Customer service skills
- Collaborator and team player.
- Adapts readily to change and has the ability to multi-task.
- Demonstrates initiative and assumes leadership roles.
- Self-starter and strong work ethic
